Haiti, Jacmel
Community Transformation
Jacmel is a city of 34,000 people, founded over 300 years ago and located 40 km SW of Port-au-Prince. Jacmel is a beautiful city situated in a small bay along the Caribbean Sea. It is rich in heritage, many of the homes and businesses date back to the early 19th century. The earthquake on January 12th, set this city back many years as many homes, schools and churches were completely destroyed. Alongside the destruction came many deaths and families whom have been displaced as a result of the destruction.
Hungry For Life is working
alongside a local partner called Joy In Hope. Their goal is to change Haiti
from the inside-out by spiritually influencing Haitians, creating a generation
who know and love the Lord and will help positively affect the future of their
communities.

Orphan Care Homes:
It is the vision of Joy In
Hope to develop property in Raymond, a community near Jacmel, and begin
community development projects with 8 orphan care homes, that will house up to
160 orphaned and abandoned children. This project will give children a loving
family in which to grow up in and provide them opportunities in life that would
otherwise not exist.
