Uganda, Jinja

Student Sponsorship & Community Development

Jinja has a population of 75,000 people and is located 90 km east of the capital city of Kampala. The average annual household income is estimated to be $100 USD which is why many of the students and their families live in mud homes that are 10 by 15 feet. His Hope Uganda has been operating since 2009 and is currently supporting a total of 93 primary & secondary students.

The student program connects supporters in North America with students in Uganda by creating a relationship between the two. Each student has an individual sponsor that contributes on an annual basis which looks after the educational, medical, and some additional needs of the family.
