Vision

Over the past couple of years, we have asked our staff and board to answer the most important question that we, as an organization, can ask and answer: “If we knew that HFL would only exist for 50 years, what we would want to see changed in this world when we were done? What do we want our legacy to be? What do we believe is idealistically possible for us to work toward?”

After many great and exciting conversations, together we have answered that question, and the answer is our shared vision. Our vision is clear and huge, and we believe that God has already given us all we need to see the vision become a reality. Here is our vision:

A world transformed and characterized by:

Before you think that our world is too broken for this vision to ever become a reality, take a look at what was going on when the early church was just a baby:

“All the believers were united in heart and mind. And they felt that what they owned was not their own, so they shared everything they had. The apostles testified powerfully to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and God’s great blessing was upon them all. There were no needy people among them, because those who owned land or houses would sell them and bring the money to the apostles to give to those in need.” (Acts 4:32–35; NLT)

Look familiar? A transformed world. We refuse to accept that this incredible picture of the world and the early church can’t be a reality once again. It is to this end that we exist.
