Mike and his family moved to Utah in 1998 to help start a church in the most un-churched region of the United States (when it comes to historic Christianity). As a worship leader and teacher in a growing church, he began experiencing "spiritual poverty," becoming increasingly uncomfortable with the limited expression of his faith.

Even though he was actively involved in evangelism, the second great commandment had largely been sidelined. He began to realize he had only modeled a fraction of what worship truly is for the congregation. After an extended period of soul searching, Mike wrote out a ministry business plan for a new organization to help churches experience comprehensive worship and spiritual fulfillment by loving their global neighbors, and within a week stumbled onto Hungry For Life International. After extensive conversations with Dave Blundell and the board, the decision was made to expand HFL into the States with Mike at the helm. His church has been an active part of HFLUSA's support, also becoming the first church in the USA to partner with the organization.

Mike lives in Draper, Utah with his wife, Joani, and kids: Taylor, Blake and Madison.
