Are you hungry for life? Real life?

I am. 

I am discontent with the status quo, with the possibility of defining my life as ‘normal.’ As I reflect on my past I can identify that my life has been full of adventure and challenge. And as I reflect further on how these experiences have shaped who and where I am, I can’t help but ponder the future with wonder. The toughest challenges have been the most defining… as they have caused me to ask the biggest questions… and find the biggest answers.    

As a Christ-follower, I identify my primary vocation as, ‘to love God and love my neighbor as myself.’ This life is full of opportunities through which I can experience God’s love and then display it to those around me simply in how I respond to all things that happen, whether they are good or bad. I believe that this is how I can experience life in a very real way in each and every day. I define this as ‘real life.’ And I am hungry for it.

But there are many ways in which I could carry out this primary vocation. During the summer of 2006 I felt a prompting to pursue a new vocational direction; a specific vocation that would further capture the gifts, skills, and desires that I have been blessed with. In April 2007 my search culminated in the beginning of my full-time employment with Hungry For Life. Serving in the dual roles of Material Aid Manager and Project Manager has become a major part of my specific vocation(s) in this world.
