Who doesn't want to save lives by feeding the hungry and clothing the naked? What church wouldn't want to demonstrate the love of God by caring for the impoverished? Who doesn't want to experience God's power and presence as a result?
Direct involvement in this kind of activity has traditionally been viewed as unimaginable; however, things have changed. The world is now a much smaller place. Information and communication from the other side of the world no longer takes weeks, but rather seconds. In addition, the cost of worldwide travel has significantly decreased and huge advances in technology have made it possible to personally do something about the needs of others “half a world away.”
HFL believes that by direct involvement of people—physically travelling to areas around the world and spending themselves on behalf of those who are in physical and spiritual need—they will be blessed. As a result, they receive a deeper filling and empowerment of the Holy Spirit and a greater depth and aliveness in their spiritual lives. Short-term team trips are an integral part of an international project.
