The team is safe in Haiti... all of us! I flew in around 11:00am this morning and was met by Danielle and our chauffeurs from MTM; Junior and Etiene. The team arrived around 2:00pm and were ushered through customs by Willem. The only thing missing was my baggage... 3 rubbermaid bins. Fortunately they were on the next American Airlines flight at four o'clock, so I sent the team on ahead of me to Willem and Beth Charles' home in Thomassin while I waited with Junior for time to elapse. It is now 9:38pm local time, and we are all safe in the Charles' home with all of our luggage. It's even unpacked and sorted!
Tomorrow marks the start of our first day of medical clinics with MTM in the village of Gramothe. I was unable to snap any photos today because I arrived after dark at the Charles' home, but I couldn't leave this post photo-less, so here is one of my favorites to keep your interest fresh.
I'll have to wait till next week to see my four little friends in Grand Goave, but I know that the smiles will be just as big!
Well, I feel grimy and nasty after two days of air travel without any sleep which is coupled with a day of hanging at the airport in the hot shade of a tree outside the terminal, and then driving up to MTM through a fog of smog and dust that our truck headlights frequently struggled to pierce in the darkness. So I'm off to my first Haitian shower in two months... 'What does he mean?' You ask?... a five gallon bucket worth of warm water that requires a dipper and skill to make it through an entire wet, soapdown, and rinse cycle that will wipe the grime of the day away. Clean bed here I come! (can you believe we get fresh sheets in Haiti!) ... (that was my kudo's to Beth!)

Hey Paul
It's good to "hear" you are safe and all is well. Praying that health stays great and that God may be praised thru the work you do this trip.
love, your proud mom
Hey guys,
Wish I could be there with everyone but I'll have to settle with keeping tabs on you via the blog instead.
Good luck with the clinics tomorrow, hope to see some pics of the kids at Laboule!
