Our Friday in Haiti began with sunny sky's and much anticipation. The entire team was to head over to the village of Dumay, to deliver the benches and tables, build food storage shelves, complete the floor and roof, (if the metal showed up...), we are all becoming very familiar with "Hatian Time". The journey from Beth and Willems to Dumay takes from 1 - 2 hrs and is a different adventure each time. Once the materials and tools finally arrived, on 2 separate trucks about and hr apart we could get to the business at hand. The shelves where installed just before the concrete floor was completed. The finishing touches were put on the benches and carried into the feeding center along with the tables. Finally the last piece of roof metal was screwed into place. The building is complete, Praise God!

We have shared with you previously the struggle of eating our lunch in front of a hungry audience. It has touched us all deeply. The team called a huddle on Thursday night and agreed we wanted to practically bless the village of Dumay at the completion of the building with rice. In all we collected enough money for Willem to purchase about 90 - 25 kg sacks. The rice arrived about noon, however word of the rice and building being finished had leaked out and many hundreds of people began to wait for hrs as we worked. It was challenging to get the tables and benches into the building through the crowds of people. There were some intense crowd control moments as the time distribute the rice drew nearer, however Willem was able to get things back under control. At the end of the distribution approximately 800 - 900 people were served a 4 -5 day supply of rice. Considering that each family would have 8 -9 members, that's 8000 + people. I think it is safe to say that none of us have ever experienced anything like this before and we will never be the same. It was very special to dedicate the feeding center to God with the team and a group of school children from the village.

At porch time tonight we touched on what an impact this feeding center along with the school would have in the future of Dumay and Haiti. We also discussed that the real need of Dumay is the eternal food of Jesus if lasting change is to take place. We prayed for Gods leading in the direction of a crusade as a possible next step. We also claimed the school, feeding center and village for Christ.

Good night
