Preparing hospitality bags.

Please pray for us today as we head into the community to share the Gospel and bless people! Our team will be split into smaller groups and paired with students from Haiti ARISE's Bible college. They will then head out to be light!

Wow, this will be a challenging day ... Megan & I just prayed last night that you would see many souls saved as you go out into the community to share your faith ... and what a great faith it is to share!! It's great to hear how God is working in your lives - we are praying for you both now and for when you eventually re-enter into our culture - another shock to your system!

We praise God for your obedience in His command to reach the lost!!!! I'm so excited about your day! Please know that you're being covered in prayer. I'm confident that as you go out, the ever present "fragrance of Christ" will attract many to you! I'm going to be praying specifically for God's protection as you mingle about in this spiritually charged area! I love this verse.."I say; My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please. From the east I summon a bird of prey; from a far off land, a man to fulfill my purpose. What I have said, that I will bring about; what I have planned, that I will do." Isaiah 47:6 You have all been sent..make no mistake. We love you, Rainer, and we're proud of you!! Can't wait to hear all about it!!!!!

Very nice looking sign. Great work girls. I am really looking forward to hearing your thoughts after you do the community outreach. Gord, make sure to use your sunscreen. Chris, have you lost your sunglasses yet? Also, it's nice to have two pictures of Janette today, thanks Aaron. Please keep this up.

Oh my goodness, this is definitely going to push a lot of people outside of their comfort zone, but it will almost certainly create a new level of confidence in what our faith is all about. Dan, I'm sooo interested to know how this day was for you. What were you thoughts and feelings before you left, while you were out and about, and when you looked back on the experience? I'm proud of you for being willing.
I have this image of God holding you in his hands and you are made of clay, and every day he gently makes you just a little bit different until the day he decides you are "done" and ready to go be with him.

I love you so much,
here's a big hug...are you ready?
!O!
Michele

Personal message to Chris,

Wanted to let you know that Christine had a really good day today ... our "counselling session" was awesome as we deeply discussed so many issues going on in our own lives. Her work was 'bang on' awesome and she's now had enough coffee to keep her buzzed for the remainder of the weekend! So, believe her when she says she's okay - because she is! You don't have to worry because as hard as it is to see her Dad slip away, she's handling the situation remarkably well - and I know for a fact because we talked non-stop for 5 hours! So, continue to leave the situation in God's hands - I can see a strength in her right now that can only come from God ... He's taking care of her just like He promised!!

~Joan :)

Thanks Joan! It was a nice "counseling session" or at least "venting place"! And to make matters better, Tamara's friend is over H1N1 and she has a place to hang out tomorrow. I had another offer too, if I needed, as I didn't want her bumming alone. Thanks Grace! So at least tomorrow, I don't need to worry about Tamara, as it was supposed to be a girls weekend. :) We'll redeem it in the evening. I've had a few good calls this week, people are checking up on me Chris, and it's helped a lot! Still miss you though!

Love Christine

It's so exciting to see the changes that are happening in yourselves and with the compound daily! I pray that everyone is staying healthy, and realizing how much good God is doing in Haiti. In every dark cloud there is a silver lining (cliche, i know) but its so very true. Even if you are feeling that you can't help the Haitians or a general hopelessness, you guys are helping them more than words can describe. The impact from this trip alone will not be forgotten.

On a lighter note, here is a little update for Mrs. Nickel and Mr. Ortlieb about the concert, the GOOD, the BAD, and the UGLY:
-matt actually had to scream in a song and wore a cowboy hat when he conducted. VERY funny!
-kayla and hanna did great conducting (i think they're either naturals or practicing secretely at home =P)
-band did amazing on all our songs, and you should hear hanna play those high notes.. so good!
-lets just say that "hay!" there might have been a mini grad prank that happened with some of our western props =)

Praying for you all!
Love,
Larissa

Dear Uncle Dan,
We hope you're having fun in Haiti. I hope you're making new friends and seeing new things. We're going to your house Saturday - Melissa's babysitting us when my mum and dad go to the Marine Corps Ball. See ya when you get back.I like your pictures! luv, Cooper
Danny - Yikes! You seem to be a true member of Carpenters Who Care now! lol! I am oober proud of your willingness to fling yourself right out of your comfort zone and go where God sends you. It is so neat to read what you guys are doing there and see current photos of this trip! I am excited to see the ripple effect your 14 days there will have... On an unrelated note - your hat makes you look kinda magnum p.i.-ish circa 1985... I think Michele wants you to leave it there... just think about it.luv ya! Kristen
