Great to see pics of the 7! Way to go guys & gal! Let me know how Jonathan is today - hope he's better. By the way, did the frisbee ever make it out or has it all been work? I hope it did at the beach!

Hey Rainer and Dan
The bros Gruenhage both stepping out and giving your testimony in church!!! Wowee!! It must feel so great to have each other there to spur yourselves on!! " Iron sharpening iron" I'm so proud of both of you because I know how hard it must have been! You looked so calm up there, sweety. You "bedazzle" :) :) me. First 12 people come to a saving knowledge of Jesus..now this...okay you're done :) :) We are counting the days till we see you!! YVR Saturday, right? :D :D Just kidding!! We know exactly when your flight comes in and we'll be waiting!! Give Dan a huge hug and "Way to go" from us. God is responding to our prayers with more than all we hoped and imagined...just like He says in the bible...go figure!! Get Dan to hug you for us! We love you so much, Rainer!! Have a great work day and have fun at the home visit!!

Nice pictures! We finally see some of Doug - so he is there after all!! What a great experience sharing your testimonies via an interpreter! I was praying that one of you would just step out speaking in tongues - now that would have been cool!!

On a personal note to Doug ... I thought I could take care of everything while you were away so the other day I was driving your car and saw that the numbers (whatever they mean) said 12.1 L per 100/km and I'm pretty sure you told me that the magical number should be 4 L per 100/km ... so, thinking that the tires desperately needed air, I took the car into the gas station and blew up the tires a wee bit to bring that number down! I feel rather odd now as I drive down the road because your car is now taller than most trucks and the tires no longer fit in the lane so I had to get a sign saying "wide load" in order to drive down the street - it's the weirdest thing! Did I blow the tires up too much??

Then there was something wrong with our toilet on the main floor. I lifted the tank lid to find that someone had installed a chain that was about 10 feet too long and had used twist ties to shorten it - but the twist ties had fallen apart. Since I didn't know where any wire cutters were to make the chain shorter, I decided to drill a hole (you left your drill out) in the lid and thread the chain through the hole ... then I taped the chain all along the mirror right up to the light switch! It was quite ingenious of me as now when you turn the light off in the bathroom the toilet flushes! I figure when I bring out the Christmas decorations I can hang little lights off of the chain on the mirror!

Well, that's about it - nothing else has broken down but rest assured that when it does, I'll be here to fix it properly!!

See you soon!

Joan :)

I think to have five extra testimonies says a lot about the impact this trip is having on the team. Very cool!

I like the picture of the young boy beside Kelly. It's clear the kids feel comfortable with the team.

Jan, it's great to see you up there teaching. You look like you are having fun. Boy, those kids look attentive. I'm dying to hear your thoughts about all this.

Rick

P.S. Joan, we have a problem with one of our toilets downstairs. Maybe at the next Bible Study you could come over early and work your magic on it. Then again. . . maybe not.

Dan,

It is emotional to see you up there at the front sharing. Wow. I'm so proud of you for just going for it! The rest of you...ditto! Was it super nerve racking, or did you feel just fine? (see...more questions! lol)

Anyways, I should say that Joan has inspired me, and I've made a list of all the unfinished little things here and there around the house. I'm feeling confident that with a little creativity, some hot glue and some odds and ends from my craft supplies and in the garage that things are gonna be looking pretty spiffy in no time.
I feel like an idiot that I haven't checked the air pressure in the tires, so I'll head right over to the gas station and take care of it. Actually, what was that Gord was saying in one of the blogs...an air compressor should work? Hey! We have one of those! Yes!
Btw Joan, I like your idea about the Christmas lights hanging off the chain in the bathroom...you are so McGyver and Martha Stewart all rolled into one!

Anyways, I'd better get going...gotta figure out how to use a compressor!

Hi Dan and Rainer,

Can't tell you how awesome it is to see you sharing your love and faith in Haiti.

The pictures of those beautiful children just brought tears to my eyes.

We are so proud of you guys. We want to continue to encourage you. We know that God is using you and the team in a wonderful way.

May you continue to feel God's love surrounding you and permeating everything you do there. Keep well. Sending big hugs.

All our love,

sis and crew

Aaron,

Thanks for the pic of Michael, I finally believe that he's actually there :)

Michael, my love..
It was wonderful to see the pic of you speaking during the church service. I am so glad that God is leading you to share the amazing things that are in your heart.

I was talking to one of my staff today. She's giving up on finding love. I am so blessed to have you, my love. You are everything I could ever have dreamed of. You are my rock and my inspiration for living. Being apart has taught me how totally useless I become without you to be my partner. Humbling, but a good experience :)
I miss you, and can't wait for you to come home.

The house is about twice the disaster it was when you left, but I've got half of Thursday off to clean up :) Was gonna do it today, but was at work till midnight so....
I've got laundry, dishes, vacuuming, bathroom cleaning, etc to do... and now Joan is making me feel like I'm behind on xmas decorating too!!!
Ah well... more important things in life, eh?
Like you!

OK mushy stuff over... it's NEVER over! I love, love, love you!

OK. Done now. Wish I had funny stuff to say like Joan and Michelle and Christine. Ah well... maybe funniness comes with age... just kidding ladies! You know I have more grey hairs than any of you! I actually thought I had something weird in my hair this morning... it was GLOWING in the dark! And that's a neat trick for brown/black hair :(

Love you Michael, and you Kelly.

Laura

Dear Dan,
Just wanted to tell you how proud I am that you were up on that stage! Yikes! You are changing in front of this very blog! Kai would say you are awesome! We were at your house this weekend and Michele and the kids are great. Michele has been trying to cut back on expenses and trying to fix things like Joan. She is so creative! She has gone beyond using coupons! She is making her own cleaning products and fixed the dishwasher with nothing but a hair elastic, some paper clips and a little petroleum jelly. Michele is using creamed corn to fuel the Whistling Dixie - the high pitched sound stopped. She has also removed most of the light bulbs in the house. This makes it hard at night, but they have started to play Sardines since they can't really see each otherand it was kind of a game anyways. Michele has painted your work van as an art project for school and it's currently at the Surrey Art Center. They have given you a transit pass for the month it will be on display. The dairy cow in your back yard was a little odd, but Michele is out there every morning milking away. What a trooper! She even looked online and saved a hefty vet bill by nuetering the dog. He should be up and running in a couple weeks...So, things might seem a little more like Haiti when you get home than you thought. It's rustic, but it's still home;0). We are praying that the rest of your trip goes well and we'll see you when you return.
Kristen, Scott and the kids
