Goals have been met!

Greetings from Kenya! It is hard to believe that just over 2 weeks ago we embarked on an adventure that has changed our lives forever! Today was our last day in Boro with our newly made partners, it was a hard day of saying good bye to people we have grown to know and love.

The women's group from Hillside Community Church purchased 50 plastic chairs, two large cooking pots and 120 plates for a rental business to help the women of Boro church to make extra income. Also donated were two bikes for two of the pastors who have been with us these last two weeks, clothing, shoes, feminine hygiene products, tarps Lou bibles and of course a soccer ball. The gifts were warmly received.

We also had to say a farewell to the children at the Siaya orphan's home. Our brief three interactions with them have caused a deep attachment between the two groups. They were sporting the new clothing so generously donated by those at home.

We are happy to report that God granted our team amazing progress on the school room we are adding to the Kochieng primary school. All the walls are up, the roof is on and all that remains is the windows, doors and finishing of the walls. More importantly our goals of making contacts, building relationships and making an impact on the lives of the community were also met.

Tomorrow we head to Kisumu to join the Gospel Power World Harvest Ministry headquarter church for our last Sunday celebration in Kenya and then we fly back to Nairobi for an overnight stay before we begin our safari. We want to thank you all for your prayers. God has been faithful in his protection of us while we have been here. While we are excited to head off to see more of God’s amazing creations, we are sad to leave our new friends behind.
On behalf of Hillside Community Church team, Jackie
