A Quick Update

The team has not been able to make it to an internet connection to provide any photos for the blog; however, they do expect to be able to get to one soon.

Here is a quick update as per a phone conversation with the HFL team leader, Jackie.

The team is doing really well and have gotten off to a quick start. Everyone's health is doing well as the team is going through the bounce sheets very quickly in order to keep the mosquitos away.

Monday: The team had the chance to go to see the orphans is Siaya, which Jackie says was an emotional eye-opening day for them. They had a chance to visit with the children and give a stuffed toy away.

Tuesday & Wednesday: Beginning of the work project (school) as team spent the day laying bricks.

Thursday: Spent the day preparing the forms and rebar for school classroom.

(partially finished gov't school room) (Not the school room the team is working on)
The contractor responsible for the gov't school room had only completed half of the building but since the arrival of the team and seeing the work they are doing on their own school room has prompted him to complete it.

I asked Jackie about any instances of God helping the team on the trip. She said the team was praying that when they checked into the domestic flight in Nairobi that they would not be charged for all the extra baggage they had. The team was able to get all of their oversized luggage on the plane without being charged, which was a big lift to the team to see God's provision.
