In Mexico

The team arrived safely in Juarez on Saturday at about 1pm local time. They spent the afternoon and evening resting at their accommodations and then on Sunday did some shopping for school supplies to take into Babicora. In the evening they attended the church service and then had dinner with Pastor Tomas and some of the church staff. The team had a fun evening talking and planning for their construction project.

The team is currently packed and ready for the 6-hour drive to Rio Chico. They will acquire some supplies on the way and, after another 8-hour drive they will arrive in Babicora on Wednesday.

Please continue to pray for the health, strength and safety of the team as they travel over the next few days, and as they begin their work project on Thursday.

Getting ready to set off

The time has come for a handful of MVAC'ers to travel down to Mexico. We will be going very quickly into Babicora and unfortunately we will be out of communication while we are there. We will do our best to keep everyone informed before we go up there and when we come down but Babicora is a very remote place so there is no chance while we are there. As my Grandma always says, "no news is good news."
While we are there we will be working very hard to construct a small bridge over the creek that is at the edge of the land and to get the footings dug and the cement poured. It will be hard work and long days but this is what we have been working toward with all of the fundraising events and where we believe God has been directing from the beginning of all this. God has worked in many ways and has been abundantly blessing all of the efforts that MVAC has put forth.
Continue to pray that God would keep his hand of protection on us as we travel and for the health of the team. Pray that we will be a witness in this community, where we will be watched from every angle; may they see God in us. Help us to see those in the community with the eyes of God and help us to know how to connect with them and show them God's love despite the language barriers.
