Trusses are almost Done
Just wanted to send a quick update out that things continue to go very well. On Sunday some of the team went on a hike with Christobal and saw some ancient Apache caves up in the mountain where they used to live. They went up so that Christobal could pick some medicinal herbs and spent an enjoyable day relaxing.
The trusses are almost all up on the Church and have had really good weather to work in although it is looking a little cloudy today. We have been really encouraged by the eight local men who have come out to assist us. Some of the ladies on the team assisted the ladies of the community in sewing today while others on the team spent time with the kids in the community. The Pima District President has continued to hand out clothing and quilts to the community.
We really feel that the community is embracing us. Everyone loves to play volleyball here and they have invited us to play in the evenings after supper, which has been nice to be able to connect with local community members through sport.
We will begin packing up the work site tomorrow and heading out on Wednesday.
Prayer Requests:
- Our cook Lucy has a bad tooth ache and her son Ephriin has hurt his back but is feeling a little better. Pray for healing for them.
- Continued safety on the construction site.
- More opportunities to build and strengthen relationships here.
- There is one more truss to put up and it is looking cloudy today. Pray that the rain holds off a little longer as the work needs to get finished and the water needs to stay low for the trip home so the vehicles will make it through the river that needs to be crossed.
Rick (Mountain View Team Leader)
