We had a party and now we're off!
The inauguration ceremony today went very well. Around 250 people attended (some walking for hours and then catching a bus) to celebrate the opening of the center.
The program was conducted in 3 languages: Quechua, Spanish and English. There were speeches from Pastors and the directors of missions organizations and of ATEK. There was live traditional music and a great lunch of pork and tamales.
It was a great morning/afternoon of fellowship and coming together to worship the God who speaks all 3 languages and unites us together.
There was also some random hunting.
Tomorrow we depart early for the village of Huanca Huanca and also Rocoto. This will be the last post for a couple days (til Thursday). Keep us in your prayers as we travel, eat food we may be unsure of and work hard while trying to live our lives as an example of God's love and grace.
Thank you for being a source of encouragement! Bye for now!

Wow, is it good to see the pics of the celebration! Bill, I could pick you out right away. I wish I was there with you. Nice to see pictures of Sandy and Ben. Is Carletta around? Hi to her if she's there. We will certainly be praying as you hit the road...for good brakes and safety all around.
It is so good to have these updates and see our kids/grandkids and know how they are doing. We will be praying for the team as you are in the village.

Wow what an exciting time for ATEK! God is doing amazing things through that ministry. So excited for you guys as you head to the villages, Huanca Huanca is such a beautiful place. Try to go out there with no preconceived ideas/expectations and open youselves up to allow God to lead you as you minister. We are praying for you and are so excited to hear your stories when you get back. Love Crystal M.
PS- Noah says to tell his grandpa he misses him. Bill he is growing like a weed you'll hardly recognize him when you get home!
Wow that looks so great and organized! It looks like a lot of work to pull an event like that off. I am so glad to hear that it went well and that you were all there at God's timing to be able to experience it. Looking forward to seeing pictures of the villages and the people you will be interacting with. I can only imagine what you are seeing and experiencing. By the way Pastor Bill, Crystal is right. Noah has grown so much. Church here was great today and so was the picnic at the Wall's. Great to be with our Christian friends and be able to share good food and coversation. May God continue you to bless you with safety, confidence in His plan and the work He has you there to do. Love Lori

Looks like you guys are having a GREAT time.. and i am so excited for your time in the village! (i would love to go to the village) David i miss you lots! cant wait for you guys to come home and hear all the great stories! Love dana
I know that you are still in the village and so you may not get to read our comments until later but thought I would just pop in and say hi. Harry and David - don't worry about your wives, Lori and Dana are getting lots of hugs from the church people. I am sure it is not quite the same, but they will have to do for now. Josh, I put up some pictures on the bulletin board in the lunch room and some of the guys from days are saying "who is this Josh guy in Peru?", so I did up another poster and said who you were and what you were doing. Talked to Kathy today. She said she is looking forward to hearing about your trip when you get back. Bryan and Kara are down until Thursday. They helped put groceries away yesterday and I guess they did think we could drink as much milk as I bought, because they put it all in the deep freezer. Sarah found it today when she was looking for something. We miss you and think of you often throughout the day. Our prayers are with you and we believe that God is going to radically change everyone of you because of this experience. Looking forward to seeing pictures from the village and hear how it went. Love Sherry
