End of Sunday

So its day three and some of us are suffering from some undiagnosed food poisoning. Isnt it travelers rule 101 that you don’t eat at roadside stands? And as I was eating the Rolex (kind of like a deep fried tortilla wrapped around fried eggs) I did think maybe this wasn’t such a hot idea, and I proved myself right today. I was reminded of the Sienfeld episode where Jerry brags about the fact he hasn’t thrown up in 10 years, and I was Jerry today. There’s nothing like some uncontrollable bodily functions to bond a team.

Now onto other content... Having come here before, and having an idea what to expect, the overwhelmingness of this place hasnt hit me. But last night when we were having team devotions the rest of the team shared what they had experienced so far and how they were being affected. I sat back and listened and smiled to myself. What the team is experiencing in regards to the project, Piet and Pita, and the kids is exactly what the Vision Team experienced and wanted the rest of Springbank to experience. You can’t come to this place and not be affected. The love that flows from Piet and Pita towards these kids is infectious and inspiring, and can only come for God. I can only hope that more of our church will feel called to come and share what we are all taking part in. I don’t need to be here, I don’t need to play with these kids, or help out, but I hope that I am at least loving these kids for a few weeks, and giving them some hope in the rest of the world. And I know that in the process I will be changed again.

Sorry to hear some of you are sick. I'm assuming David is amongst the three of you, he'll eat anything...guaranteed Janice is not. Hope you feel better and no more random food.
