The Siaya Children's Home, with funding from John and Sandra Haynes and under the umbrella of the Gospel Power World Harvest Ministries, has been meeting the needs of a group of children since 2005. The dream of creating a community with more homes was not realized, but the funds have been well used across the years to meet the ongoing needs of this group of children as they passed from primary to secondary school and then on to college and university. They have grown into young adults and are beginning to find their way in their world with the dream of being able to pay it forward to others in their community.

Latest update

The Children's Home family is happily and safely living in their Kisumu home with Bishop Richard, his wife Evelyne and their children. The young adults of the home have their own space in a nicely furnished, steel-sheet dorm in the compound. New bedding was supplied this fall, along with new schoolbags.

School has resumed, and Ruth, Dora and Verah have begun their final year of secondary school. Margaret has returned to classes and is a little behind now, working on Form 2 (grade 10) with a continuing vision to complete her secondary education and head into college to attain her degree in Nursing.

Isaiah and Cynthia have yet to declare postsecondary plans, but we know they are coming soon. Nicholas is continuing with his university studies in Accounting and is doing well.

Matthews, Lillian, Stephen and David will be launching out into the wider world soon, ready and prepared for adulthood and strong in their faith. They will receive startup funds to help them get going in their work place and in their independence.
