Phnom Penh, Cambodia:

One woman who recieved releif items, Mrs. Thou Lel, is 50 years old and lives in Phnom Village. She was born blind. She lives alone and she has two children. Her first child got married and moved out and the other one is living in an orphanage.
She was given 1 big blanket, 50kg of rice, instant noodle, fish cooks, and fish sauce.
“My life has never been better or worse. It is just like this so far since I was born and grown up. Since I cannot do farming or laboring. In order to live I decided to go to Yak Loam lake every day to beg tourists for food or little money to buy food. If they give me money, I will take it, or if they put it in my pocket, but if someone drops it wrong place, I do not know how to take it. When I got money, I ask my relatives to help me to buy rice and food because I did not know how to buy things on myown. When I go to beg at Yak Laom lake, I often get lost and walk in the wrong direction, sometimes reached to other villages. I have no idea what I want or hope for my life. I only wish I won’t get sick and die alone in this cottage of my father. Maybe I wish my family won’t kick me out off this land or I will be homeless. I was so excited when I was told I was listed in among those families to receive food. Thanks to whoever give this to me and others."
