Where we’re working:
Zamine Sebaya, Ethiopia
The village of Zamine Sebaya are a 6 hour drive south west from the capital, Addis Ababa. Soddo is the closest city located to the villages, and is a 30 minute drive away.
Zamine Sebaye is 1 of the 31 villages in Damot Gale region with a population of just over 2,000 people. There are no clean water access points in the village, and people gather water from shallow wells, river, streams, and rainwater. There is 1 school in the village that is over populated and students are being taught by teachers with a low education. The school has only 1 latrine for 542 students which has caused the sanitary situation at the school to remain very low.
