Where we’re working:
Lacama II, Guatemala
Lacama II is a community of about 4,000 people located about 140 km (or a 2 hour and 40 minute drive) NW from the capital city of Guatemala. The main language is Quiche (one of Guatemala’s 22 indigenous languages) but many people have adapted to modern Guatemalan culture and are learning, or can speak, Spanish. This is a close-knit group of people that have a well-structured, traditional community leadership.
