Mirebalais, Haiti

Located about 48km (as the crow flies) from Port-au-Prince, or just over an hour drive, Mirebalais has a population of over 69,000. It is located in the central part of Haiti's farming regions, making it a great hub for transport into the capital city.

School Sponsorship Program

Project status: Ongoing

Ecole Mixte FONSOPED de Meyes currently provides free education and a daily meal for over 450 of the poorest children in the community. Southside Church has been working in Mirebalais since 2006, and in 2007, began this school with our Haitian partners FONSOPED.

We have partnered with Haitian Children's Aid Society (HCAS) to work alongside our partners FONSOPED to begin development of a property in Mirebalais that will serve as the future home of Haiti Children's Home as well as provide community services such as a medical clinic, clean water access and

Orphanage Operation

Project status: Completed

HCAS provides support for the operations of Haiti Children’s Home orphanage. Alongside FONSOPED they are providing the basic amenities, medical care, education, recreation and spiritual enrichment, on a daily basis to 20–30 orphaned children in Mirebalais.
