Rehabilitation Centre
Ukraine has a multitude of social problems affecting the country. Issues such as war, high unemployment rates, poverty, lack of social programs, alcoholism, prostitution and poor medical care are all contributing factors leading to early death. Life expectancy of men and women is only 62.3 and 74.5 years respectively. One in three Ukrainian men consumes alcohol heavily and there is little to no social assistance for alcoholics; resulting in the need of rehabilitation. There is very minimal social support for Ukrainians who are at risk because of poverty.
The rehabilitation center building broke ground in 2010 and had its grand opening in the summer of 2012. The home can house up to 30 men.
