March 2017 Project Update:
8th Anniversary
Nikopol, Ukraine:
Greetings to you, our dear brothers and sisters in Canada!
On February 4th 2017 we celebrated the 8th Anniversary of the Rehabilitation Center. Our group was joined by many local people including women from nearby Rehab center and pastors from regional churches.
We had a great time of fellowship together, sharing and encouraging each other. Pastors shared the Word of God prompting us to continue to follow the Lord and His goodness. The patients there shared their story of how they came to the center and what all that God is doing in their lives since coming there.
Brother Rasul (he is one of the newer men here) was sharing how God is changing his life step by step. He also shared how difficult it has been as his family is broken apart; he has loved ones who do not know the Lord; does not have a home; and has no ID. Most of his life is gone. In all this God has been working in him and he has started to see the results!
He asked to pray for a second chance with his family, for salvation of his children and grandchildren.
Yuri finished his rehabilitation and has moved on to Zaporozhje where he is working in an adaptation center there. He praises God through his music on the guitar. Yuri shared how difficult it was at times to submit to the authority and the rules of Rehab center, but he decided to finish it no matter what. The Lord has been blessing him. Please pray that his relationship with his family would be restored.
Aleksandr came to us from Nikopol. His friend kept begging him to go to Rehab and he finally agreed. He’s been here with us for three months already;after the Lord reached out to him, he repented and gave himself to the Lord. His plans were to stay at the rehab while its cold outside and then leave. Please pray for him that the life he started with Christ will continue strongly until the end.
Before Dmitriy came to us from Dnepropetrovsk, he was fighting the war in the East of Ukraine. The effects of war have led to mental illness and alcoholism. The Lord is working on his character and healing his heart.
After hearing many more testimonies of God’s work in the life of people, we rejoiced and shared a meal together. Please pray for these men and everyone at the Rehab Center.
Thank you so very much for such a beautiful facility you’ve helped us with.
Thank you for the cows. They supply us with milk and other dairy products which we are able to make.
Thanks for the van and the trailer, it has been so useful and helpful to us at the rehab center.
Most importantly of all, THANK YOU for your loving, caring hearts, and for your faithful prayers!
There are 16 people in the Rehab center right now. Please pray for successful rehabilitation of our patients and their ability to stay faithful to the Lord afterwards.
With much love to each of you,
Rehab center
