December 2016 Project Update:
God always provides
Pryazovs'ke, Ukraine:
Dear friends,
I would like to share with you about our life in the orphanage. Since the Lord filled your hearts with love for our kids that live here.
Our children and staff are very grateful for your participation in our lives. God wisely orchestrated that our home would be able to exist strictly on free giving support. If you would not have supported us this past year it would have been very difficult to provide for the children. At the end of the year our finances were getting really low, but thanks to the support that we received we will be able to have money for food for the first 3 months of 2017.
As far as the kids go, they have everything they need. They are able to go to school and sometimes we organize field trips for them.
They do complain during winter as it is very boring for them. It is really cold outside, days are short and by the time the school is over it is dark outside. They would like to play and run, but there is not enough daylight. We are in need of a gym, but we have no finances for it. We are humbled before the Lord and trust Him with this one.
During summer it’s warm and the kids play outside, they play soccer and other games. We really enjoyed the camp this summer in Novograd-Volinskiy.
We are thankful for the machine shop. There are quiet few kids that are helping out/learning how to fix vehicles. Our hope is when they leave this place, they would be able to find a job to provide for themselvels.
Also, we have 2 greenhouses, where we grow tomatoes and cucumbers. During the winter they are closed down as it costs way too much to have them running. Usually at the end of February we reopen them. There are many children that are interested in helping and learning in the greenhouses.
There are 41 children in the home now as we just received two new girls; 9 and 6 yrs old. Their parents left them and dissapeared without any way to find them. It is so sad that these kids don’t know their Mom or Dad.
By the grace of God our home is still open and running, so we can help kids like these ones. Thanks again for your part in it.
May God bless you!
