Haiti Earthquake 2021

On August 14, 2021, Western Haiti was struck by a devastating 7.2 magnitude earthquake. Haiti is still recovering from the President's assassination only one month ago as well as ongoing gang violence blocking major routes in/out of the capital city. The cost of food supplies have been inflated since then and now they are faced with yet another challenge!

Hunger Virus Initiative

More than one year following the launch of the Hunger Virus Initiative, Hungry For Life continues to work closely with our many field partners around the world to bring immediate relief to people in places where starvation is the greatest threat during the global pandemic. Many of our partners have begun shifting their response to the needs within their communities by including agricultural development projects and supporting education as a way of ensuring sustainability for the future.

Philippines - Typhoon Phanfone Relief 2019

On Christmas Day, 2019, Category 2 Typhoon Phanfone struck the island of Boracay in Central Philippines causing widespread damage and loss of life. It is currently reported that 48 people perished from the storm, and a total of 374,000 homes across the entire region of the Philippines were damaged or destroyed.

Two weeks ago, Haiti started a series of protests that brought the entire country to a standstill. The protests started as peaceful marches and on Thursday, February 7, tens of thousands of people took to the streets.

Fuego Volcano Guatemala 2018

The Fuego (fire) Volcano erupted at noon, Sunday June 3, 2018, 43km from Guatemala City. Our project partner in the area is aiding in the evacuations.

Hurricane Matthew 2016

On October 4, Hurricane Matthew pounded Haiti with winds of up to 250 km/h, dumped up to 40 inches of rain and left behind widespread devastation across the country, making it the worst hurricane to hit the region since 1963! Official reports now state over 1000 deaths, 1.4 million people in need of immediate humanitarian assistance and cholera beginning to spread in the southwestern part of the country.

Philippine Typhoon 2013

Hungry For Life works with Strong Roots Ministry on Boracay Island in the Philippines which was impacted by Typhoon Haiyan. In efforts to provide for families who have been impacted as a result of the typhoon, Joven and Anita (Strong Roots Ministry) will be assessing communities that have been affected to bring food, medical supplies and water.
