"Claude Celiphin has been working at UCI ever since its establishment in Caiman, Haiti. He and his family live in the community and attend UCI's church and school. The first year that he worked at UCI, Claude had the goal of buying a cow as an investment to help his family. Cows are very valuable in Haiti to help with plowing and running the sugar cane mills.

In Siaya district, Western Kenya, there has been severe flooding along the course of the Nzoia river which for many residents has resulted in home and crop loss. This flooding has been compounded by drought in the region and the between harvest months known as the Hunger Season.

Haiti Bible Mission has been responding to the increased needs in the community due to food and water shortages and recently was able to construct a water reservoir and hand washing station.   This hand washing station is strategically located outside of one of their newer church plants in the community of Saint Helene.
