Senor Carlos from Radio Nacional interviewing.
Q: Senorita Bailey, what is your first impression of Guatemala?
A: A beautiful country with very humble, loving, and welcoming people .
Q: Senorita Marcella, Are you missing home, the snow specially?
A: I am missing home, no not the snow. But I also do not want to leave this beautiful country, with beautiful loving people.
Q: Senorita Bailey, what can you tell me about the Guatemalan People?
A: we went into the homes of many family’s today and they were so happy to have us there. The children are so cute, and respectful. They love to play and although we can’t speak the same language we find many other ways to communicate. They are all so lovely!
Q: Senorita Marcella, are you making some new friends with your Canadian group?
A: I have met a lot of new people during this trip. Through listening to there testimonies, praying, and laughing. I am so happy to learn more and more about everyone in this group, and I hope that the friendships will continue when we come back home. Another great thing about everyone in this group is that they are supportive and kind and they prayed over me when I needed it.
Q: Senorita Bailey, How was sharing your testimonio?
A: I was very nervous to share my testimony because last time I shared in front of the lady’s in our church I felt awful and immediately regretted it. I was contemplating talking to Wendy about how to share my testimony here in Guatemala. I didn’t want to talk to her because I didn’t want to let people know I couldn’t do it on my own. But as I was turning around to not talk to Wendy there she was walking up the stairs, well I guess I had to talk to her than! I cried and Wendy prayed over me long story short I came to the conclusion to share all of my testimony, not leaving any of it out. We prayed for courage and strength and that’s exactly what God gave me. I stood in front of the church with full confidence. After sharing instead of instant regret and anger, I felt peace and joy. God gave me the strength and I now know that the devil knew that I was no longer afraid to tell my story but I was afraid to be vulnerable. Now I’m afraid of neither.
Q: Senorita Marcella, Same question for you?
A: At first sharing my testimony was scary. I was afraid to be vulnerable with people I didn’t really know. But after the other night seeing there goodness while praying over me it gave me strength and courage to be able to share and be vulnerable with the greatest group of people I have ever met. It also helped me after I shared it with bailey and it made me feel more confident in my story and what I had to share.
Q: Senorita Bailey, Anything special to share about today?
A: Today we got to share our love through pastor Victors church by giving food baskets to some family’s. It was a really cool experience since we got to enter locals homes and pray for them!
Q: Senorita Marcella, How was delivering the hampers today?
A: I found delivering hampers was impactful for not only the families that we visited but for us as a team. It was amazing to see that when we entered their homes how much joy, hospitality and vulnerability. We were able to pray over several families and give them baskets of foods. It was really cool to see where some of the locals lived and the environment they live in.
Q: Senorita Bailey, are you exited to go back to Canada very soon?
A: yes and no. I am very excited to go back to my family, but my time here has been amazing and I love every moment I can’t wait for more days to come.
Q: Senorita Marcella, What will you miss the most about Guatemala
A: The adorable little children! The amazing community and Pastor Victor and his family. I will also miss the beauty of this country and the warmth.
Well senoritas, thank you very much for coming down to the national radio station, we are out of time and next show will start shortly.
Senor Carlos, can I ask you a question (Bailey)
Q:What do you enjoy about coming on trips like this?
A: Coming to Guatemala is extra special as I was born here, sharing God’s love to these people is also very special to me, coming and getting to know the amazing young group of people from our church is a blessing to me.
Q: Senor Carlos What do you miss most about living here? (Marcella)
