A team of 8 from Community Bible Church in Stittsville, Ottawa traveled to Seje, Kenya to continue their work with the Odours and Glory Center Academy. One of their team members was an eye doctor, and they brought an eye refractor and over one thousand eyeglasses to run clinics in the local area. They are also ran hygiene classes with female students in the local high schools and provided reusable sanitary napkin kits. The team continued to build its relationship with the students and staff of Glory Center Academy as they conducted a school shoe project with the students.

Shoe Day at Gracious Academy

Today was a busy day again with the team accomplishing a great deal. We started at the hotel with a breakfast buffet that included mandazi (a donut type pastry), corn on the cob, bread, Matoke (cooked bananas) and samosas as well as mixed tea (milky tea).

JAMBO: Welcome to Kenya!

After two days of non-stop flights, the team got up early this morning so we could fly from Nairobi to Kisumu. Unfortunately, Neil and Kevin didn’t hear the warning and slept through. Oh well, no showers for today. Oh, by the way, the preferred coffee in Kenya appears to be instant. : (
