Cristocentro Honduras
Cristocentro Honduras is part of a worldwide network of churches in 24 nations. Since its inception in 1985, Cristocentro Honduras has grown from its birthplace in San Ignacio to plant daughter churches in the heart of some of the poorest areas of San Pedro Sula. Their vision is to reach out socially to all without discrimination and to restore lives holistically, guided by Luke 4:18-19, "The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor."
Cristocentro has planted 4 churches within the poorest areas of San Pedro Sula - Nueva Florida, Rio Blanco, La Lima and Zolano - in northern Honduras. The pastors intentionally assess and help to provide for some of the social and physical needs of the people. Their aim is to see holistic transformation throughout their communities by meeting the physical needs of the young and elderly in order to open the door for spiritual transformation through the preaching of the gospel.
Pastor Julio Pavon oversees all activities at the four church plants within San Pedro Sula and is the lead pastor of Cristocentro Region Nor Occidental in Rio Blanco. However, during the week he teaches at a university in Tegucigalpa and commutes to San Pedro Sula on the weekends.
