This post by Patty Collins

We are a group of women from Canada who have joined together to form an organization called EVE (Ending Violence Educators). We have been to Haiti, Kenya, Uganda, Guatemala and soon to be Mexico to help facilitate discussions and increase awareness of the dynamics and impact of sexual violence and exploitation.

We will be working with El Refugio in Ensenada, a ministry that provides safe housing and family environment for victims of abuse. The facility was founded 10 years ago by Randy and Sandy Huebert, who are from Lloydminster, Alberta.

Our objectives for this trip are to facilitate health, education and empowerment for women and children, spend time building relationships with the residents at Casa Esther (part of El Refugio), and being involved with relief efforts in the community.

We'll be regularly posting updates here so please follow along! We would love to hear your comments.
