Ending Violence Educators - February 2020 | Hungry For Life

February 2020: ,

The EVE team continues their partnership with Hungry For Life by continuing on to Ensenada, Mexico to work with El Refugio.

Alongside the field partners, they continued their work with community leaders, conducted women's health classes, and worked in local schools to bring about transformation through the power of knowledge, specifically on the topics of violence and self-esteem.

Team Testimonials:

"This trip has helped me appreciate how much just a word or gesture means."
"I was reminded while I was at a church service here that at home, my church was having their service; How great is our God—omniscient, omnipresent, and always there for everyone of us."
"There were many touching moments but I was able to challenge myself and step out of my comfort zone."
"It broke my heart to hear about the abandoned baby at the hospital. This may have been the ultimate gift from his mother who could not care for this child. He is now not alone but being loved by nurses and all who care for him and in the arms of a loving God."
"My highlight was visiting a home for women. They have a shelter, school and help to get on their feet again. The home not only provides a safe place for these women, but help them get jobs so eventually they are independent."
