Team:

November 2013: ,

A team of 17 men representing Haitian Children's Aid Society (Edmonton) alongside HFL Team Leader Steve Johnson traveled to Haiti to work alongside our partners in Mirebalais. The team engaged alongside our field partners, an organization called FONSOPED, to begin construction of a depot as a part of their vision to see a new orphanage constructed. The orphanage will give over 40 children the opportunity to grow up in a family setting as they await the process of adoption to North America. The team was also involved with many of FONSOPED's other ministries including: church fellowship, VBS, sports activities, outreach and primary school sponsorship.

Additional items accomplished:
  • 10 care packages provided for school children’s families
  • 1 store room renovated with shelving and storage units
  • 2200 lbs of medical supplies, clothing, diapers, formula provided for Orphanage
  • 50 workers received multi-tools and t-shirts as a part of employee recognition
  • 100 people received a meal as a part of an employee celebration
  • Footings poured on 4th orphan home
  • Driveway constructed
