A team of 3 people, led by HFL leader Edith Watt, represented Living Hope Fellowship as they traveled to Cambodia to work alongside Asian Outreach Cambodia (AOC) in Lvea Em district of Kandal province. Since the team was small, two other women from Canada and the UK went along. The team taught English at the Youth Centre, delivered healthcare training, and assisted villagers in building a church out of bamboo and other local materials.

Yesterday - Our Day of Rest

We have been going nonstop since we arrived in Cambodia.  We have seen and experienced so much that it seems far more than 8 days. It was very fitting that yesterday was the Sabbath day as each one found our own way to rest our bodies, minds and souls.

Day at the Angkor Complex

Well! Got up at 4:30am to see the sun rise over Angkor Wat Temple. The team joined hundreds of people arriving at the 12th century Temple to witness this event and then to view the most unique religious architecture in the world. Angkor Wat is the best preserved Temple in the Angkor complex.

Timbits...with Vietnamese Coffee

The team just arrived back in Phnom Penh after 3 days delivering flood relief supplies to some villages in Kandal and Prey Veng provinces. What a hugely uplifting experience to give away bags of rice to those hardest hit by the flooding.

Helping the hurting

We had an amazing first day of home-to-home food distribution yesterday. We were able to help five families then and another 92 today through a general food distribution. We travelled on the Meknng River to get to the village today…what an experience!

Walking On Mud

We're heading to the village today to help with the rice distribution and won't be back until Thursday or Wednesday for those living in British Columbia. We won't have internet access so will post a blog when we return to Phnom Penh.
