July 2016: ,

A team of 10 travelled to Membrillal, Guatemala in the summer of 2016 to work alongside the local church, Iglesia Galilea. The team provided medical care in the community and Hungry for Life USA plans to send teams to this community bi-annually to hold medical clinics. Hungry for Life USA has already facilitated trips for many teams to build a school and church in Membrillal. This trip was an active and wholistic extension of the work already being done in this community.

The team saw 540 patients at the clinic in 4 clinic days! The team took 19 bins of medications with them to begin a pharmacy for the clinic to use as they return every 6 months.

Team Testimonials:

“Our team worked so well together. Everyone’s individual skills created a beautiful unit. I can’t wait to return to Guatemala!”
“This trip served as confirmation that I love to be a part of missions and serve people with my skills.”
“It was amazing how so many people from so many different churches came together as one body to serve.”
“I am challenged to re-evaluate the “stuff” and the “noise” in my life that separates me from God and my friends and family.”
“This trip has brought me closer to God and has given me a desire to know more about His plan. I am truly grateful for all the gifts He’s given.”
“This trip has challenged me to learn how to get back into community and not be afraid to be honest with others and myself. I am learning to trust God despite my bitterness.”
“I was able to give a pair of glasses, previously ordered for my daughter, to a teen. They just so happened to be the perfect prescription for her and it was beautiful to see her smile!”
“I am thrilled to be a part of this long-term project and development in and around San Lucas. I am excited and motivated by the Guatemalan’s passion for Christ.”
“I want to eliminate the unnecessary things in my life—appreciate all of the blessings my family and I have. I feel like I want my resources to be used in places like Guatemala, where the need is great.”
