18 team members and 2 HFL leaders excitedly served in Membrillal and Zapote. The team worked hard helping to built a house and two stoves. There were a lot of youth going on this trip and several had been 3 years ago with South Mountain Community Church.  There were many talented young people who ran an evangelistic youth night and invited the locals to join them.

Additional items accomplished: 
  • Moved 753.5 wheel barrels of dirt 
  • Assembled 52 rebar columns for the next group to install. 
  • Built 1 house  
  • 2 stoves constructed
  • Provided bridge opportunities for Guatemalan pastors to share Christ
  • Provided skits and lead worship at their youth event

Last Full Day in Guatemala

Friday night after returning from Zapote, we took part in the youth night at church. We were asked to do the entire service for the night. Many in the group were a little nervous about that, but everyone did amazing.

First Day in the City of Zopote

Day seven in sunny, beautiful Guatemala and boy are we exhausted! Today we woke up at 0530 which is also known as o’dark thirty for good reason (can you tell she’s in the army?).  After eating breakfast we headed out to Zapote which is two hours south and much more humid than San Lucas.

Last Day in Membrillal

I enjoyed another beautiful day in San Lucas and Membrillal. I awoke to sunshine…a good sign here. It’s such a blessing to hear, “Buenos dais” from the beautiful ladies who prepare our breakfast, lunch, and dinner each day.

Hi. Day 5 was pretty swell.  We woke up about the same time as yesterday. I don’t know what time it was, but I can tell you it was too early. We had a great breakfast of pancakes and fruit and love.

Membrillal Day 1

The crew was up before 7:30 to enjoy a lovely breakfast and then proceeded to get ready for the day. After everything for the day was packed we headed off to Membrillal to help with construction for a school.
