A team of 11 men from South Mountain Community Church in Draper, Utah traveled to Guatemala for 8 days. This was the second team that SMCC sent to Guatemala in 4 months—the youth group traveled to Guatemala in July.

The team traveled to the communities of Membrillal and Zapote to build stoves for under-resourced families and continued to build lasting relationships between the communities and the people of South Mountain.

Additional items accomplished: 
  • 4 dwellings rebuilt
  • 6 stoves constructed
  • 1 toilet built
  • 5 loads of gravel moved from the school in Membrillal to their property for a new school facility
  • 2 inches of sand delivered and spread over playground area at existing school
  • Dug out and terraced the gate entry to the school so that it functions
  • Painted entire school
  • Facilitated 3 medical clinics
  • Replaced mattress
  • Provided bridge opportunities for Guatemalan pastors to share Christ
  • Played a lot of softball with the kids
