Voice of Hope Ontario - March 2019 | Hungry For Life

February 2019: ,

In March, Voice of Hope headed back to Kakamega, Kenya with a team from Ontario to continue their partnership with Everlyne and Martha. A team of 8 women led by HFL leader Lauri were involved in women's health and safety teaching, widow visits and compassion projects, Bible distribution, sewing initiatives, and strengthening/encouraging the spiritual growth of these ladies. Several of the ladies traveled ahead of the team to assist in a one-month-long sewing teaching project.

Team Testimonials:

"It broke my heart to see school age kids by the school but not attending simply because they couldn't afford the tuition fees."
"One highlight was discussing options for helping a couple more kids in the near future."
"I hope that because of this trip I will be able to look at things through a new perspective."
"This trip opened my eyes to the world and how different, yet the same, life can be."
"This trip has impacted me knowing that God called us and we obeyed. Knowing that we hopefully helped 18 women change their lives has been rewarding."
"I feel that God has blessed us and the ladies that we worked with."
"That we are all God's children became very real to me. A personal relationship with God has to be maintained all the time."
"I never realized what poverty really looked like. How the widows had faith and trust in God for all things."
"This trip has made me more compassionate and has motivated me to keep a tab on all the ladies."
"This trip has made me aware of the great needs of the people in the Kakamega area."
