Greetings! A new day. This morning we went to Kakamega Nature Forest. We went on a guided two hour hike. Many butterflies, various birds, different types of monkeys were observed. Our guide pointed to many medicinal trees and different types of wood i.e. teak. This rain forest to our delight today was pretty dry. Our rubber boots were not needed nor our rain ponchos. We then went back to Alex House for lunch. Yummy as usual
After lunch our schedule included two visits to the ladies. Alice was not at home. We went to Rose K. It was neat to see the new house with four rooms that was recently built for Rose. Very adequate. Rose was beyond thankful to God for provision. It is such a blessing to our team when we can see the completed work, the happiness it brings to all. Rose’s children are doing well. Unsure of when the seeds will be coming up. Please pray for rain.
We then went to the Ibuka school to present our Days for Girls program. Grade 7 and 8 only. The girls were very receptive with questions and were delighted to receive their DFG bags. We were also able to leave a soccer ball and some skipping ropes with the vice principal.
Our driver Nelson delivered us safely back home!
