Voice of Hope - October 2015 | Hungry For Life

October 2015: ,

The Chilliwack ladies group is at it again! This group, now called Voice of Hope, traveled to Kenya in the fall of 2015, focusing their work on widows and orphans. The group visited our friend Beatrice at the Arise and Shine School, along with the same widows who they had built relationships with last year.

The projects they were involved with included sending money for a new latrine for Beatrice and sending candidates out for bio-intensive agricultural training. The successful candidates will come home to Kakamega to teach local widows the benefits and skills of farming to hopefully gain them a cow, provided by a program called Send-A-Cow.

Feeling the Love

Courage & Trust

Our day started in a more relaxed manner which was very welcome at the end of a  rewarding but intense week of many visits and various projects.  Our first visit was with  a courageous young woman named Jessica.  We met Jessica for the first time as we were visiting another widow nearby.
