Voice of Hope headed back to Kakamega, Kenya to continue their partnership with Edwin, Everlyne and Beatrice. Sexual health and safety teaching, widow care and time at Arise and Shine Early Childhood Development Centre were some of the main activities they focued on during this trip.

Our first daytime rain

We started today with a visit to Arise and Shine school.  We helped with feeding them breakfast, and then played a few games with them.  We showed them our games, and  it was a delight watching even the tiny ones learn a new game. Then they played several games they were familiar with.

COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS!!!

This morning we all headed out "together" to visit our new widow Juliette. She is 73 years old.  Her husband died in 2012 at the age of 83.  Her first born son, age 57 past away 2 1/2 months ago in a vehicle accident.

Today, the second day of DfG training, they were taught about contraceptions, STI's/non-STI's (Candidiasis;  bacterial vaginosis; UTI), sexual assault (rape and sexual exploitation), self defense; and then they hand sewed a liner and a shield.

A busy blessed day

Today Cora and Johanna went with two teachers, Edith and Shefar from the Uganda Days for Girls University, and gave day one of a training session to 26 ladies from the area.  Even our widows  Alice, Myla and Petronella were there.

Praise be to God

This morning we headed out at 8:00 for the Arise and Shine Preschool where the team was greeted by a beaming,  healthy looking Beatrice and young Margaret.  The team was very excited to see the completed classrooms and kitchen that were funded by the 2015 team.
