Praise him with tambourine and dance;
Let everything that has breath praise the LORD!
Praise the LORD!”
Psalm 150: 4 and 6
This verse was so applicable in our worship service!
Our team split up today and each attended a church where our widowed ladies worship.
Following the service we once again gave our hygiene presentations to a very interested group of women eager to learn more about their bodies and health issues women may encounter.
Meanwhile Cora and Lydia held an impromptu Sunday school lesson outside.
The final countdown
Today was our final full day in the beautiful Kakamega. Lauri, Lisa, Aggrey, and I went to the Shirumba Landmark Baptist church. We were given the warmest welcome, and spent the morning praising Jesus with our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. Afterwards, we taught feminine hygiene to an amazing group of ladies.
After the teachings, we went on 2 final widow visits. Everlyne, Lauri, Lydia and I met with Felisters who was a beautiful soul. We had a lovely visit, and she was so full of Jesus!
I think one of my favourite moments of the entire trip ended with our visit to Florence. She gave us her testimony, speaking into how God worked in her life while she was brutally attacked in her own home - she was able to forgive her attackers, and find the peace of God’s love was stronger. We sang together, we worshipped together, we read scripture. She made us cooked bananas and yummy chai tea. It was a moment we know we will never forget.
Back at home, we’ve packed and are not quite ready to make the journey home. Kenya has a piece of each of our hearts...
