For many residents in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, life has gotten harder. Conflict in northern Ethipopia has aused numerous people to be displaced, and the number of homeless people is growing. They are impoverished, homeless or experiencing financial hardship, mainly because food prices have increased by three or four times. Even though it's difficult for the homeless and children living on the streets to survive, holidays are the hardest to deal with. It is the holidays when they expereience the most feelings of loneliness, abandonment, and unloved. Because no one remembers the poor and instead gathers at their house to enjoy what they have with their friends and relatives.
Every year during Ethiopian Holidays Simple Acts of Kidness provides a delicious lunch for over a thousand people and have fun by doing some game activities with the street children. Just like all their other programs, the Holiday lunches are mostly supported with the help of SAK's network of Ethiopian volunteers, Hungry For Life comes alongside to support by filling the last shortfalls.
