Difficult times point Lemuel to the "Solid Rock"

Sometimes the sinking sands of things out of Lemuel's control can seem so strong!

Gangs continue to take over more areas of the country, limiting the flow of supplies. People who used to make a living by buying items in the city and selling them in the rural markets have lost their source of income. Prices and exchange rates fluctuate constantly. The closed border with the Dominican Republic has severely limited food and supplies - everything from eggs and flour to medication and cement and DDL work uniforms. Yet another fuel shortage has affected DDL, which was set to take over selling fuel for MACOL. It would have given ready access to fuel for water pumps, trucks, and machinery, as well as an income to fund more community development

projects. Without suppliers of fuel, none of that can happen.

Despite the many difficulties, God has made it possible for DDL to continue having a positive impact on the community.

Through fencing and irrigation projects, more families have started planting trees and small gardens. During the fuel shortage, God sent rain so that the water pumps don't have to run! Lemuel has even been able to provide temporary work for over 40 people in the last two months. Staff planted over 300 trees after a large rain, and they built two small homes for teachers near the newest waterhole. The Solid Rock overcomes sinking sands!
