Ending Violence Educators

EVE is a team of passionate volunteers who engage in facilitating discussions to increase awareness of the dynamics and impact of interpersonal violence and gender-based exploitation in at risk global communities.

This incredible team of nurses and health educators work alongside many of Hungry For Life's partners in a unique way. Through their curriculum they develop relationships with community leaders to help address stress points within the communities. They also conduct women's health classes, and work in local schools to bring about transformation through the power of knowledge, specifically on the topics of violence and self-esteem.

Mpigi, Uganda

The EVE team traveled back to Mpigi, Uganda to continue to build into the incredible groups who were inspired years ago by EVE to work against violence in their community.

Alongside the field partners, the team continued their work with community leaders, conducted women's health classes, and worked in local schools to bring about transformation through the power of knowledge, specifically on the topics of violence and self-esteem.

"When a young man disclosed the abuse he had suffered it gave me the courage to disclose what happened to me when I was young... I hoped that it would inspire them to confided to someone they trust to possibly relieve the sorrow."

Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic

Empowering change! The EVE team is travelling to Dominican Republic to work alongside Hungry For Life's partner organizations: Pro Infancia, Empowering Action, and Fudesa Ministry located close to Santo Domingo. The team is embarking on a transformative journey the first week of June 2024  with the goal of fostering safe and supportive environments where violence is not considered common place. The goal is to support the work of local organizations in empowering the community leaders to develop and transform their community. The team will hold group sessions with community leaders to educate about violence awareness and prevention, as well as teaching in elementary and middle schools, and supporting care and compassion projects for at risk families.
