Ending Violence Educators

EVE is a team of passionate volunteers who engage in facilitating discussions to increase awareness of the dynamics and impact of interpersonal violence and gender-based exploitation in at risk global communities.

This incredible team of nurses and health educators work alongside many of Hungry For Life's partners in a unique way. Through their curriculum they develop relationships with community leaders to help address stress points within the communities. They also conduct women's health classes, and work in local schools to bring about transformation through the power of knowledge, specifically on the topics of violence and self-esteem.

Project Name 1

CaimanMirebalais, Haiti

In November, a team of 14 including HFL leader Jason Krul traveled to Haiti to work alongside United Christians International in Pignon, and FONSOPED in Mirebalais. The team assisted in completing the construction of bridge near the school in Mirebalais, construction of a teacher's housing facility at UCI, conducted home visits in the community, participated in feeding programs, and more!

I have seen firsthand God at work—the Holy Spirit is very much in Haiti within the people.

Membrillal, Zapote, Guatemala

A team from B.C. worked alongside our partners in Guatemala in the communities of Membrillal and Zapote. They held group sessions to bring about transformation through the power of knowledge, specifically on the topic of violence. Specific project activities included: teaching hygiene classes, sex education, facilitating a feeding program and building a house and stove for a family in need.

"Telling a family in Membrillal that they were going to receive a new home and stove was an emotional and powerful day!"
