Peace Portal Uganda (PPU) is located in Mpigi, Uganda. They are inspired by the love of Christ and motivated by a desire to see transformation in their community. Born out of a partnership between Peace Portal Alliance Church in Canada and Peace Portal Community Church in Uganda, they seek to holistically engage in what God is already doing in the area of Mpigi, Uganda.
Their projects consist of Heritage Primary School (with a current population of 500+ students and housing for 100+ students), two church congregations, staff teams who do Compassion Visits throughout the area, community-based Ending Violence Educator (EVE) groups, a maize mill which generates income and provides food for the piggery project, monthly medical clinics, clean water initiatives, and a budding vocational program.
These projects are led by Pastor Michael Masembe and his wife, Juliette, who is the headmistress of Heritage Primary School. Pastor Michael and Juliette have six children and two grandchildren; they also have as many as fifty more children living on their property at any one time who are in need of housing and love.
