Simple Acts of Kindness

Simple Acts of Kindness

SIMPLE ACTS OF KINDNESS Ministry was started in 2013 by our partner Tilahun Getnet.  Tilahun was forced to leave his home in the countryside at a very early age to live on the streets of Addis in order to survive.  After living homeless for a number of years, he received the opportunity to attend school through a sponsor in Canada.  After graduating from high school, he started the ministry entirely based on volunteers and carried the purpose of Mathew 5:16 Bible scripture (LET YOUR LIGHT SO SHINE BEFORE OTHERS....)

Their vision is to show God's Love through simple acts of kindness and where no child goes hungry and is forced to live on street. They believe that no child should be excluded, forgotten or ignored and we are motivated by our Christian faith to work towards our vision. Tilahun and his volunteers work with the street children to ensure that they have people who think and care about them so they will not feel alone and we work they are healthy, emotionally well, safe, and as economically independent as possible.

Project Name 1

CaimanMirebalais, Haiti

In November, a team of 14 including HFL leader Jason Krul traveled to Haiti to work alongside United Christians International in Pignon, and FONSOPED in Mirebalais. The team assisted in completing the construction of bridge near the school in Mirebalais, construction of a teacher's housing facility at UCI, conducted home visits in the community, participated in feeding programs, and more!

I have seen firsthand God at work—the Holy Spirit is very much in Haiti within the people.
