Broadway Church

Broadway Church is a member of the Canadian Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches. Located in the heart of Chilliwack, the church community is driven to lead people and to love and follow Jesus. Practically, the church aims for this by gathering on Sundays for worship, teaching, and prayer, by meeting in care groups throughout the week for support and equipping, standing with organizations and individuals advancing the Gospel locally and internationally, by serving their community through various ministries such as Kids and Youth.

Broadway supports a number of long-term missionaries and ministries around the world. The church has been supporting Chad and Mary Martz for many years as they are a part of the church community. As a part of this connection and support, Broadway sends teams to Ukraine to support Chad and Mary in the work they are doing at the retreat home. The first team traveled in August, 2026 and served alongside in the minsitry work being done in Ukraine.

Broadway Church - July 2017

Zakarpattia, Ukraine

A team of 6 traveled to western Ukraine, hosting summer camps for over 1,500 children that consisted of feeding, building realationships, sharing the gospel and educating children through games and stories.

The 3 camps, held over 12 days, brought together children from 9 villages, with lunch, snacks, and a small dinner provided each day.

"Being able to serve tangibly is a wonderful experience—to take joy in serving and partnering with God and to see the opportunity as a blessing."

Broadway Church-August 2026

Ukraine

The August 2026 team from Broadway served through providing respite to two groups of twenty women that have lost their loved ones in the war. One group came from the Irpin/Bucha area, which is just outside of Kyiv and the other from Mykolaiv, which is very close to the front line of the war. The team prepared meals, helped with cleaning, visiting, shared in sightseeing with the group, and engaged basically whatever you do in your own home when you have guests from out of town. Please be praying for the groups this team served, and the ongoing work of everyone serving in Ukraine.
