Hope and encouragement grow more gardens!

Lemuel campus and development staff have been busy!  With the rains and the water in the waterholes, they've been immersed in planting and watering existing gardens as well as starting new ones everywhere they can!

Perhaps most exciting of all is that so many in our community are catching on to the idea of starting gardens in their own yards!  We have been trying to encourage this for years and it has finally taken root.  Others have started larger gardens closer to the waterholes so that they can water them with pumps, pipes, and hoses.

From a recent blog post:
One of our young men said to Manis today, "Everyone had given up on gardens. They were discouraged and didn't want to plant one more time. But seeing what you've done, they are motivated again. They are eager to try again." This is how it all comes together. This is how we're helping our community combat hunger: one seed, one waterhole, one picture of hope at a time.
