In 2019, after 5 years of running ONYX and training our partners and staff in facilitation and lesson design, Dove is producing a curriculum, as requested by partners, colleagues, and students. We are in the process of phasing out 2 DOVE satellites and encouraging a more grassroots approach by training ONYX alumni to run the ONYX program in their contexts.

Healing spaces

Dove’s newest project focuses on healing trauma among women in Cambodia. Unfortunately, domestic violence is a common experience for many women in Cambodia. Trauma due to physical, verbal and emotional abuse is rarely taken seriously in this context, but Dove aims to help women heal. During the next year, 20 Cambodian women, with ages between 18-40, will meet one morning per week. The goal of this time is to provide a safe space for these women to work through their feelings of loss, shame and fear and to learn practical ways for managing stress and anxiety and setting boundaries. They will be equipped to stand firm in their dignity and for their rights.
