Sad Goodbyes

Heading

Today we left Siaya and flew back to Nairobi. We had to say goodbye to our drivers and our field partners. We will miss them all and they were such a blessing to have alongside us on this journey.

In the afternoon, we visited Shiphrah Centre, in Nairobi. It is an orphanage which has about 65 kids! The kids range from 9 months to 18 years old. All the kids were so sweet and welcoming. They sang us a couple songs and we played the game ‘this or that’. We brought them 170 pieces of chicken and 33 large fries for supper and it was completely gone.

Tomorrow we leave for home. It’s been such an incredible trip filled with lots of laughs and cries together. I think I can speak for all of us when I say we have really grown to love one another and will miss spending each day together! We all learned a lot from this trip and are changed forever. God has done so many wonderful things in the lives of these widows. Some of the team members who have gone before have really noticed how the women are changing because of the gospel. What an answer to so many prayers! Coming back into life in Canada is going to be hard for some of us but we know that God brought us here to teach us something and He is not finished. “He who has started a good work in you will bring it to completion.” Philippians 1:6
